I began to look further into trend search, particularly focussing on shape and finishing effects – with the swing tag in mind. I came across a forecasted trend; the hive cape. This was a very interesting shape and one which could be incorporated into a swing tag design, particularly with regards to the boutique collection.
For inspiration for environmentally friendly materials for the swing tag, I discovered materials which I knew very little about, most likely due to their innovative nature. For example: grey board, paper pulp, eco-paper and carton board.
Moreover, with regards to finishing effect I discovered the following: thermography, textile concrete, sandpaper, tin, embossed texture, precision laser-cutting. Longevity is something which considers sustainability and consequently is particularly noteworthy with regards to the bag for life; this was considered frequently throughout the trends which I analysed.
What next?
Next I must begin to create my own swing tag examples basic on the secondary research I have conducted thus far.
